Seems the Tirinites might follow the idol closer than the ideal.
Merceneiress May 11th, 2018, 11:47 pm
@Ganurath: I was originally going to have her say "Tirinites Unite" but "All Hair Tirin Prime" sounded less corny.

@Dragonrider: know Tirin well don't you...

@ems: Thanks - that's what I was going for.

@Lurker314: Haha, I was thinking of something similar for her to proclaim, like "All Hail the Twatorus Cataractizak" but I didn't want to do that...

@Guesticus: Ahh, good point -- just when you thought Torel was bad, get a load of Sariel...

@robnot: I was thinking of using something similar for Lil' Tirin's journey towards becoming a sorceress -- like Lynch's Gom Jabbar scene - she would stick her hand in Mistress Salock's box and have her hand melted --- the PAAIIN!

@jayhawke: now that would be a great scene --- especially Kyle Maclachlan's Paul (nothing against Kyle)

@Caplinger: Tirin thanks you --- that is the best compliment she has ever received (looking eminently hail-able)

@Ice Raven: Glad you like!!

Taking bets on how many pages before Tirin Kills her and destroys the time spice.
ems (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 2:55 am
The very classic of a "just give us the next quest and shut up“ moment.
Lurker314 (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 3:22 am
Yeah, I'm thinking Tirin is about to go full Kwisatz Haderach on them.
Feanor (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 8:07 am
@ Lurker314 C'mon, dude -- no one on this forum has ever read Dune. That reference will mean nothing.
Sheesh ...
Guesticus (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 8:28 am
@Feanor: please let that be a joke...
robnot (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 9:53 am
@Feanor: well at least it was not a Gom Jabar..
Dragonrider May 11th, 2018, 11:52 am
@Feanor: Beware the maker and its meaning.
Guesticus (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 8:30 am
It's always the crazy ones, kinda makes you wonder if Time Perv and his Time Syndicate may have been the good guys (or at least the sane ones)
jayhawke May 11th, 2018, 11:07 am
Long Live the Fightors!!! read and watched the Original movie- aqnd Tirin would kick Paul's ass four ways to Sunday...
Caplinger (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 1:21 pm
All Hail Where do I get in line to Hail Tirin Prime? She looks eminently hail-able. Hail, yes. She'd be worth ten legions of Sardukar...
Ice Raven (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 2:42 pm
Like Nifty! ;)
Feanor (Guest) May 11th, 2018, 6:34 pm
@ Dune Reference Hee Hee
I figured that would stick the pin in a few balloons ...

No one worth his salt would read/follow Merceneiress without knowing the references to Dune -- and a number of other excellent authors in the genre. It was as formative with me as Tolkien -- and that's saying a lot.

The only other comic out here that came close to measuring up to this one was Arne Cooper's Androssian Prophesy, but unfortunately it's now long gone, more's the pity.

No word from Steve on the 'Dune' comment?
Slacker ...
Merceneiress May 11th, 2018, 11:25 pm
@Feanor: Your comment had me laughing madly, channeling Kenneth McMillan's Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. You think I would have come up with an all powerful spice that folds time by myself?! Totally done in tribute and glad no one accused me of stealing (cause in no way was I intending that --- purely a tribute). All of the stuff in this comic are tributes to all the stuff that influenced me as a child, teenager. Stuff still influences me greatly as an adult. Where do you think I got dimension hopping from? Rick and Morty of course! haha --- not just that --- tons of other influences dealing with multi-dimensions and time. You mentioned Tolkien --- huge influence.

Ugh, actually, my stomach still churns a little thinking about that Harkonnen scene from the movie.

Long live the Readers!!!!

Thanks for the comments! I wish Androssian Prophecy was still going too.
Guesticus (Guest) May 12th, 2018, 12:49 am
@Feanor: yeah, still check out "Androssian Prophesy", hoping for its return, it wouldn't be the first

@Merceneiress: not sure about the Time Syndicate, butt Torel was bad and needed to be removed (pity it was only in two pieces :( ), Sari may not be bad butt she certainly seems nuttier than a Picnic bar

Wait, you need to be specific about which Bitchlock's box (sorry, just had a vision of Lil Tir fisting Bitchlock, the melting and the pain was still applicable :shudder: )
Anonymouth (Guest) May 24th, 2019, 6:07 pm
@Guesticus: You think dissolving a hand is bad? Salock usually uses her "box" to punish males! All of her slaves are eunuchs.

Apparently, she literally is full of piss and vinegar.
Feanor (Guest) May 12th, 2018, 7:42 am
Dr Smith @Merceneiress: Seriously? You wanna do this? Bring it ...

@Guesticus: By his own request, Arne had read my Stonehenge book and was in the process of illustrating characters for my new "Hot-Chicks-With-Swords" fantasy novel: Tales of the Forest Rangers. He made good money, but I haven't heard a peep from him since at least October. The Androssian Prophesy site's gone altogether now.

He loved Merceneiress and considered it his only real competition.
Two completely different styles in tone, concept and execution; both of remarkably excellent quality.

Tirin Prime... somehow I have the impression Tirin Prime does not really like it to be worshipped. And certainly not in a divine kind of way, where her disciples all go down on their knees to honour her...
Guesticus (Guest) May 12th, 2018, 11:12 am
@SoftSpot: well, not in public anyway :P

@Feanor: personally considered "Prentil" to be closer (actually believe found "Prentil" via an ad on the TAP page)
SoftSpot May 12th, 2018, 1:04 pm
and about the ease with which she seems to get a grip on the time-dimension-relation... she has had much time to get used to "strange" theories during the time she was in the service of the slorn... so she has a firm advantage on that point. And "thinking out of the box" was drilled in her head from when she was a stubborn little girl, her father knew all too well it would mean survival for her. In fact he is the greatest visionair of all, even though he didn't know that himself. :)
Guesticus (Guest) May 13th, 2018, 1:32 am
@SoftSpot: one thing though, Prime Tirin never had the benefit of her dad's teachings, he was murderized which set off this whole shebang
Lurker314 (Guest) May 14th, 2018, 5:14 am
@Guesticus: He was murdered at the point we picked up with Little Tirin. And we see that she is already well into her training. The most important lesson is how to learn, and I doubt her father skimped on that.
Speedy (Guest) May 24th, 2019, 6:21 pm
This is gonna be interesting. Sariel reminds me of Rachel from Guilded Age.
